Contest Rules

• Eligibility

  • Artists of all nationalities and ages are eligible to participate

  • Participation in both the event and online contest is free of charge

  • Only artists registered to participate in the event will be eligible to participate in the online contest

  • Participation in the online contest is not mandatory for artists participating in the event 

• Registration

  • To participate in the event and subsequent online contest, artists must register here by Thursday, April 13th

• Submissions

  • Art pieces in all painting and drawing media and techniques, and all sizes will be accepted

  • Photography will not be accepted as a medium

  • Artists may submit multiple art pieces

  • Art pieces must be started and primarily produced “en plein air,” (on site and based on observation from life) during the day of the event, in and around the town of Vinci

  • Subjects of art pieces are to be freely chosen by artists provided the landscape/environment of Vinci features primarily

  • Finishing of art pieces after the event, whether from sketches, photo reference or memory/imagination is acceptable

  • Art pieces must be the original, exclusive creation and property of the submitting artist

  • Each submission must include 1 photo of the finished art piece (without frame), and 1 photo of the piece taken in context during the event. Images must be in jpeg format and size must be at least 2500 pixels in the long dimension

  • Submissions will be accepted online starting the day after the event and must be received by April 30th at midnight CEST (May 7th in case of event postponement for weather)

• Voting

  • The contest will be decided in an online vote of the art pieces displayed in an online gallery on the website and which will be open to the public, running from May 1st, 7:00pm to May 8th, 7:00pm (CEST)

  • Contest winners will be announced on May 9th

  • Voting is restricted to one vote per person

• Winners

  • Winners and runners-up will be announced the day after voting ends by email and on the website and social media platforms of Studio Peregrino

• Prizes

  • Participating artists will be eligible to win the following prizes:

    • First prize:

    • Half-page artist advertisement in PleinAir Magazine (approx. value €2200)

    • One month artist spotlight on outdoorpainter.com (approx. value €920)

    • Second prize:

    • Large easel sketch box M/22 from M.A.B.E.F. (approx. value €250)

    • Assorted handmade painting panels from MAKO Art Supply (approx. value €110)

    • Voucher towards brushes from Rosemary & Co. Artist Brushes (approx. value €100)

    • Third prize:

    • Virtual Stage pass to the PleinAir Convention & Expo, Denver May 21-24, 2023 (approx. value €370)

    • Runners up:

    • Voucher towards custom framing from Landi Cornici (approx. value €50)

    • One year print & digital subscription to PleinAir Magazine x3 (approx. value €46 ea.)

  • Prizes will be shipped to winners via mail or digital download

• Rights

  • Artists participating in both the event and online contest grant Studio Peregrino the right to use the images of their art pieces and artist’s name and likeness on Studio Peregrino’s website and social media platforms for promotional purposes. Artists will retain the copyright to their work.
