Horizons of a Genius

Calling all plein air artists and art lovers!

It is with great pleasure that we at Studio Peregrino, in collaboration with the Pro Loco of Vinci, invite artists and art lovers to participate in Arte in Loco: Horizons of a Genius, a day of landscape art creation in Leonardo da Vinci’s birthplace, followed by an online contest for prizes.

Participating artists will have the opportunity to produce drawings and paintings ‘en plein air’ in the places where Leonardo's story began, and spectators will get to watch as the creations take shape.

The event will take place as part of the Giorno di Leonardo 2023, the annual celebration of the life and works of Vinci’s most illustrious son. In addition to painting, the entire village will be animated with parades, guided tours of Leonardo's house, and entertainment activities for adults and children. The event is free and open to all.

Artists wishing to participate are invited to register here by Thursday, April 13th and show up with their own painting or drawing materials - all techniques and media are welcome. For those not participating as artists, registration is not required.

Lunch will be provided for participating artists free of charge at the Pro Loco di Vinci refreshment point. Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate individual dietary restrictions.

After the event, artists will be eligible to enter the paintings they produce during the day in an online contest and will have the opportunity to win prizes from our generous sponsors: PleinAir Magazine, M.A.B.E.F. Easels, Mako Art Supply, Rosemary & Co Artist Brushes, and Landi Cornici. Winners will be decided by an online vote open to the public.
